From Drab to Fab: A Chair Story

After years of sitting in a horribly uncomfortable desk chair I decided to save my back and invest in a proper office chair. I scoured the internet and local stores in search of the perfect seat to rest my bum. I had very little luck finding something adorable enough to feel like a side chair but still be functional enough to use at my computer every day. Finally, after months of searching I found a pair of original Knoll chairs on Etsy with good bones, but shall we say... in less than glamorous condition.

I knew with a little love they could become something very special. I headed over to Mood in search of the perfect fabric with an open mind. I was so inspired by Chanel-ish boucle fabrics, I had always dreamt of a Chanel sofa. I quickly bought 4 yards and took it to Decorators Laminating to add a backing which would strengthen the fabric for upholstery since it was meant for apparel. I then bought a giant black leather hide and took the chairs straight to my upholsterer for a little make over... Et Voila!! I just love the way they turned out. I added a few girlie brooches {Ban.do & Chanel} and I couldn't be happier with the end result.
