One Love
I previously mentioned that several months ago Ginna of 27 Ground contacted me about curating a very special event at Woven Accents called One Love. You can read more about the collaboration between Woven Accents and various artists here. For those of you that attended the event, thank you so much for coming! For those that couldn't quite make it, it was one for the record books. There were deliciously tasty bites, overflowing drinks, amazing tunes and eye popping art... sensory overload! I was so honored to curate this event in particular because I love the idea of layering street art and cooler edgier pieces into a traditional home to create a more contemporary personalized design. For the event Kenny Scharf, Gregory Siff, Tanya Nolan, This Means Mar, & Defer all featured one of a kind vintage hand painted rugs. DJ Neff of Can Love live painted the most amazing kilim which was later used as the photo booth back drop. He also hand painted those gorgeous colorful flowers that are made from recycled spray cans. I also got some amazing art toys from Toy Art Gallery and Blamo to style the main gallery and smaller vignettes. To complete the look I borrowed a few pieces from Organic Modernism (how amazing are those benches?) and lights from A + R. I couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out! You can visit J. Marx Atelier to see more images of the space.
